The Award ceremony of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka held on  Wednesday, 23rd June 2010 at BMICH

 

 The ceremony was organized to  award certificates for those who successfully completed Courses in Computer Studies, Course in Professional Skills Enhancement Program and Course in Taxation. Around 300 students were eligible to receive their certificates for the period of January 2009 – December 2009.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Mr. Sunil S. Sirisena Secretary ,Ministry of Education  graced the occasion as Chief Guest and  Mr. Channa de Silva , Director, Enterprise and Public Sector, Microsoft Sri Lanka was the Guest of Honour.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka has identified the necessity for computer literacy for the students of AATSL  and started  the Computer Training Centre in 1995. To enhance the marketability of professionals, the members of AATSL were exposed to an extensive program know as Professional Skills Enhancement Programme (PEP) which was launched in 2007. Also to provide a comprehensive knowledge on various taxes applicable to business entities as an essential requirement of today’s manager, accountant, entrepreneurs and professional the Course in Taxation started in 2008.  These courses are not only open for members of AATSL but also for non members who shows much interest in improving their knowledge and skills. By the end of 2009 we were able to produce 300 skilled, competitive, challengeable professionals on following courses.

The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka was established in 1987, on the initiative of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka with the primary objective of producing Accounting Technicians for the private and public sector.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During this period we have acquired a reputation as the undisputed leader for producing quality accounting technicians to the nation. Today after 22 years, we could be proud of a membership of over 4,000, passed finalists numbering about 15,000 and active student population of over 38,000, considered as the highest for any Professional Institute in Sri Lanka. Within a short span, AAT has gained international recognition and it has obtained associate membership of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA).
