To enhance the leadership and communication skills, AATSL has chartered a Toastmasters Club for members. The response from the members to join the club is encouraging.
It was 85 years ago, the first toastmasters club was found in U.S.A. That was a defining act by this Toastmaster International organization’s founder, Dr. Ralph Smedley, who forged a path to the future, that we all benefit from today.
AATSL on its part has 23 years of history and much achievement it brought to the educational and professional history of our country. In each of those examples, AATSL took a leap forward to change, adapt and meet the evolving needs of our members. These changes were not easy, yet our volunteer leaders and professional staff blazed a path to a brighter future ahead. Despite the forward momentum of our organization, we can always improve on our success. U.S. President Thomas Jefferson said: I like the dreams of the future better than the history of past.”
Coming years hold great promises for AATSL Toastmasters. We will continue to enhance and improve our educational programs, club training and recognition programs. We will use emerging technologies to better deliver our programs to even more members. There will even be a day in the not-too-distant future when we’ll celebrate the club having more active members in Sri Lanka.
Have the confidence to face your future with excitement, engagement, and energy. The best days for you and our association are ahead, not behind.
